Chucks and High Speed Spindles

Handler precision chucks are available in many configurations. Manufactured of alloy steel, brass and hardened steel, Handler chucks are made in various designs to provide manual, semi-automatic and automatic changing of burs, mandrels, abrasives, buffs and brushes. High Speed Spindles for grinding and finishing of hard alloys are available with automatic mandrel changing capability. We will gladly discuss your particular chuck requirements.

16 Chuk/Changer
The Handler Chuk/Changer was designed to provide full automatic, precision changing of 1/4” [0.6cm] and 3/32” [0.2cm] diameter burs, mandrels and chuck accessories with the slight movement of a handle while the motor is turning.

The Chuk/Changer provides the technician with exacting concentricity and quick, easy changing of various chucks which greatly speeds grinding, polishing and finishing
procedures. The No.16 Chuk/Changer is adaptable to most types of dental motors, including older models e.g. R & M, Ritter, Baldor, Emesco and Red Wing.
The No.16 is shipped complete with chuck accessories as follows:

16C Accela/Rotor
The 16C Accela/Rotor is a combination of the Handler Accela/Rotor attachment and No. 26A Red Wing Lathe. The Accela/Rotor attachment converts the right side of the lathe from standard lathe speeds of 1725/3450 rpm to 12,000 and 24,000 rpm for use in finishing non-precious alloys and chrome-cobalt alloys.
The 16C is shipped complete with a Red Wing Lathe, Accela/Rotor with movable light and protective shield, high speed spindle, adjusting levers and necessary guards.
The high speed spindle incorporates an activating handle which opens and closes the 3/32” [0.2cm] collets for ease of changing burs and mandrels while the motor is running.

16D Accela/Rotor Attachment
The 16D Accela/Rotor attachment turns your Red Wing Lathe into a High Speed alloy grinder. It attaches to the right side of your Red Wing lathe and provides 12,000 and 24,000 rpm speeds for proper metal finishing. Shipped complete with all necessary guards, instructions, light, and high speed spindle.

16B Chuk/Changer with Lathe
The 16 Chuk/Changer is factory installed to the right side of a 26A Low Base, Red Wing Lathe. This combination provides the technician with the ultimate in chuck changing efficiency at both low and high lathe speeds.
The movement of the activating handle allows the technician to change from 1/4” [0.6cm] to 3/32” [0.2cm] burs, mandrels and chuck accessories without stopping the lathe. This combination will pay for itself in time saved, while providing excellent concentricity for accurate, professional results in finishing appliances.
All chuck and maintenance accessories included. 16B combination shipped on LOW BASE 26A lathe 4 1/2” shaft height unless otherwise specified.

16SB Chuk Changer
A combination of a 28L 1/3 HP two speed polishing motor and a Handler Chuk/Changer. The addition of a higher torque motor with a Chuk/Changer will provide the technician with years of chuck changing efficiency. The 16SB will save time while assuring accuracy for the technician who frequently interchanges 3/32” and 1/2” diameter burs, mandrels and chuck accessories. Shipped complete in 115 Volts/60Hz.

16SB-1 Chuk Changer
A Chuk/Changer in combination with a high base 1/3 HP two speed polishing motor No. 28. The 16SB-1 will allow the technician to utilize larger diameter buffs and abrasives, while obtaining the accuracy and speed of interchanging both 3/32” [2.3 mm] and 1/2” [6.6 mm] burs, mandrels and chuck accessories while the lathe is in motion. Shipped complete in 115 Volts/60Hz.

1000 High Speed Grinder
The 1000 H/S Grinder develops 1/4 HP at speeds up to 18,000 rpm. Based on an old reliable design, the 1000 is an affordable alternative to a larger H/S Grinder.
The 1000 is shipped complete with a steel chuck (which accepts 3/32” burs and mandrels), a lighted hood with base and a 3” suction outlet to connect to your suction unit.
Two toggle switches activate the light and motor separately. A hand wheel is mounted on the left shaft of the Grinder to allow the technician to slow the rpm of the unit when burs, mandrels and mounted points are changed on the manual chuck. Shipped complete and ready for use.

2000 High Speed Grinder
The 2000 H/S Grinder is the same as the 1000, but contains the addition of a variable speed foot control and a flexible shaft with a manual Jacobs style handpiece. The flexible shaft may be connected directly onto the motor shaft with the supplied adapter.
The manual handpiece will accommodate burs, mandrels and mounted points with a shank diameter up to 1/4”. Accessories are tightened into the handpiece via a Jacobs type key. The unit is shipped complete with accessories.

2001 High Speed Grinder
The 2001 is identical to the 2000, except a Doriot handpiece is supplied instead of the manual Jacobs type handpiece. 3/32” burs, mandrels and mounted points are interchanged on the Doriot handpiece via a twist of the handpiece’s body.
The unit is shipped complete with accessories.
