Dust Collectors and Polishing Units

For 80 years, Handler has built durable polishing units and dust collectors. Our experience with dust collectors is second to none in the dental, jewelry and industrial trades. We are certain you will find a Handler polishing unit/dust collector to fit your requirement. For those cases when a central system is not indicated, we offer a variety of units for the benchtop and underbench positioning. Single or double suction positions are described and listed in the following pages.

550 Porta-Vac bench top dust collector
Handler Manufacturing announces a new and improved Porta-Vac unit Model #550. This is replacing the traditional Model #66 Porta-Vac. It is perfect for bench top light grinding and polishing with a hand piece or lathe.

Featured enhancements include 40% more suction power, compact in line suction design, removable resin clean out tray, replaceable clear acrylic shield and reusable and replaceable pleated rear filter. Also, the #550 comes with a florescent light for hours of cool, bright operation.

The #550 will collect 0.5 microns of dust and larger particles. The unit was designed for better, more efficient performance and easy operation. Take it out of the box, install the light, plug it in, and it is ready for use. The durable white powder coated heavy gauge steel frame is built to last, and the unit is made in the USA by Handler.
The compact, lightweight and efficient #550 Porta-Vac is 81/2”wide x 12”high x 12”deep.

62-II Super Sucker II
 62-II SUPER SUCKER: Designed to provide excellent suction to a single bench top work position. The 62-II Super Sucker develops 110 CFM ( cubic feet / minute) at a static pressure of 63" of H20 and is one of the most powerful single station dust collectors available.
Designed for continuous duty, the double walled disposable filter bag is easily removed through the front access door with the removal of two thumb screws. A rear internal activated charcoal filter aids in the removal of acrylic monomer odors.

The 62-II Super Sucker is shipped complete with the dust collector with variable speed controlled suction motor, 4 feet if 2-1/2" flex hose and a fishmouth. A 6" resin splash hood may be order in lieu of the fishmouth. This unit is not recommended for collection of ALO dusts.

66 PORTA-VAC
 A bench top dust collector used for collecting dry grinding and polishing dusts from acrylic, porcelain and metal.
The No. 66 is shipped complete with a 6” wide 10” deep x 12” high aluminum splash hood with light, suction unit which provides a 150 CFM (cubic feet/minute) [71m3/min.] suction capacity and 6” x 6” fiberglass filters to entrap 5 micron dust particles and larger.
This Porta-Vac is designed for occasional, light duty use in the dentists office or small laboratory. NOT recommended for collection of wet dust or gypsum.

62 Super Sucker
Designed to provide maximum suction capacity, the No.62 Super Sucker develops 225 cfm (6.36M3/min) suction capacity through two top inlets. Dust and grindings are entrapped in a removable, disposable paper filter. A secondary polyester filter entraps finer dusts. A third filter made of activated charcoal removes up to 80% of acrylic monomer odors. Shipped complete with two 87210 fishmouths, two four foot sections of 3” (7.6cm) flexihose and four clamps, this unit is an excellent addition to the smaller laboratory which is collecting dusts sporadically.

66A Under Bench PORTA-VAC
 An under bench single position dust collector for use in collecting dry grinding and polishing dusts from lathe or handpiece operations. The No. 66A Under bench Porta-Vac has a suction capacity of 150 CFM (cubic feet/minute) [71m3/min.] and is shipped complete with an 83WL splash hood, 3 1/2 feet of 3” [7.6cm] flexhose and an under bench canister with suction unit mounted on top. Not for wet dust or heavy grinding operations, eg. ALO. Shipped complete ready for set up under the bench with table top splash hood. The No. 66A may be shipped with a bench top fishmouth in lieu of a splash hood. Please specify when ordering.

66D ReADI-VAC
 An under bench dust collector designed for the collection of dusts created by handpiece grinding. The 66D effectively entraps 5 micron and larger dust particles with 150 CFM (cubic feet / minute) quiet suction. When used in conjunction with an in drawer Grind-n-Tray, most dust particles are entrapped into the removable 10" x 10" x 2" fiberglass filter.
Shipped complete with 3-1/2 feet of 3" flex hose and a magnetic flange for adherence to metal drawers, the 66D will quickly pay for itself in precious metal grindings collected
This unit is NOT recommended for the collection of wet dusts, gypsum or ALO dusts.

76D-0 Bench Top Dust Collector
 A bench top polishing unit designed to provide 365 CFM (cubic feet/minute) [172m3/min.] suction intake through two frontal suction inlets.
The 76D-0 is constructed of heavy gauge sheet steel, finished in a durable, baked coating. Two 10” x 12” x 2” [25cm x 30cm x 5cm] (480 cubic inches) [7.9m3] reversible and replaceable filters entrap dusts as small as 5 microns and larger.

This unit is shipped complete ready for use with your lathe or it may be purchased with a No. 26A Red Wing Polishing Motor (SEE 76D-3). Two aluminum pumice/polishing pans are provided to hold wet pumice and dry grindings. This unit is NOT recommended for use with gypsum dust or ALO.

76D-3 Bench Top Dust Collector
 The 76D-3 Bench Top dust collector is identical to the 76D-0 described above, except it is provided with a No. 26A polishing motor.
The frontal interior polishing area may be illuminated with two 60 watt incandescent bulbs to provide the user with proper light for grinding and polishing operations. Finished in a durable, baked coating.

69 MOTOR-VAC Attachment
 69 MOTOR-VAC Attachment: The 89 Motor-Vac attachment is built to assemble to the left side of a dental lathe and provide suction to the right side of the lathe. When the lathe is activated, the suction impeller attached to the left shaft creates 175 CFM (cubic feet / minute) suction at Low (1725rpm) speed and 350 CFM on High (3450rpm) speed.
The 69 Motor-Vac is shipped complete with a
6" wide splash hood, suction housing and 4" flex hose. A bench top fishmouth may be substituted in lieu of a hood.
This unit is NOT recommended for the collection of wet dusts, gypsum or ALO dusts.

70 MOTOR-VAC
 The No. 70 Motor-Vac is a complete single position dust collecting and polishing unit. It incorporates a Model 69 Motor-Vac attachment and a Model 26A polishing lathe.
The lathe may further be fitted with additional attachments such as the Auto-Chuck or Chuk/ Changer to allow the user to complete all grinding and polishing operations on the right side of the lathe (these chucks are provided at additional cost).

Dusts are channeled through the rear of the lighted 83WL splash hood and into a finely woven dust bag. The dust bag is easily removed from the rear of the suction outlet, cleaned and replaced. This unit is NOT recommended for use with gypsum dust or ALO.
